gender roles - week four

This week I have learned about the different roles that males and females have. It was interesting to learn about how different boys and girls are and even if you give each child the same toy like a car or a doll they may or may not play it. I have learned that even if boys like more girlish toys or girls liking more boy things it is fine just let them and even play along with them to spend time and to help build those relationships. Sometimes by playing with different toys it allows the child to learn to be caring , thoughtful, good communication, or being good at nurturing. I think we should embrace the differences of men and women and help those different characteristic work together in helping strengthen a family.  It is interesting to me to see how even now how roles have changed in families with both the dad and mom sharing to doing the house work or  helping with children and supporting the family.
